How to Buy the Shares
1.) Open an account with a SEC-licensed stockbroker or use an approved online investment platform (many digital brokers support IPO subscriptions).
2.) Ensure you have a BVN and a CSCS account (Central Securities Clearing System). Most brokers help you open a CSCS account during registration.
3.) When the offer opens on 14 September 2026, log into your broker’s app/platform or the official NGX Invest portal.
4.) Select the Dangote Refinery IPO, enter the number of shares (minimum 10, then in multiples of 10), review the prospectus, and submit your application.
5.) Pay the full amount at the time of application.
6.) Wait for allotment after the offer closes. Successful applicants will have the shares credited to their CSCS account, and the shares are expected to begin trading on the NGX later in 2026 (indicative timeline points to November).
Always use only licensed channels. Beware of unofficial WhatsApp or social-media messages asking you to “reserve” shares or send money outside official platforms.
Future Outlook
The refinery has already swung into strong profitability (reporting significant after-tax profit in the first half of 2026). Management’s plan to double capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day would further strengthen its position as a major regional and global refining hub.
Longer-term positives include Nigeria’s large domestic fuel demand, export opportunities across Africa and beyond, and the potential for petrochemical expansion.
Key risks to monitor include global oil price volatility, regulatory changes in the Nigerian energy sector, execution risk on the expansion project, and general equity-market conditions after listing.
Overall, the IPO gives both institutional and retail investors a rare opportunity to own a stake in one of Africa’s most significant industrial assets at an early public stage.
