Description
- The Network Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s network infrastructure by designing, implementing, and monitoring security controls.
- The role involves identifying vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, managing firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
- Work closely with IT teams to assess risks, strengthen defences, and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures (on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments)
- Configure, manage, and monitor firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC, and secure remote access solutions
- Perform network security assessments, vulnerabilities scanning, and penetration testing remediation
- Monitor security events and logs; investigate and respond to security incidents
- Implement and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices
- Manage network segmentation, access controls, and zero-trust security models
- Secure network protocols, routing, switching, and wireless infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT, cloud, and SOC teams to integrate security across infrastructure and applications
- Support compliance with regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, and incident response procedures
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Head, Security Technology & Engineering
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of network security principles, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and DNS
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and network access control (NAC)
- Experience securing cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and remediation
- Familiarity with zero trust architecture, network segmentation, and least-privilege access models
- Knowledge of secure network protocols and encryption technologies
- Experience responding to and investigating network security incidents
- Understanding of common attack techniques (e.g., DDoS, MITM, malware, lateral movement)
- Ability to develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures
- Experience supporting compliance and regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, CIS)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Qualification & Experience
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- 3–6 years’ relevant experience
- Industry-recognized certifications, such as:
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA
- CCNP Security or CCIE Security
- CEH, GSEC, or equivalent network security certifications
Desirable:
- Cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer).
