Perfetti Van Melle Nigeria Limited is the Nigerian subsidiary of the global Italian-Dutch confectionery giant Perfetti Van Melle, one of the world’s largest manufacturers and distributors of sweets and chewing gum. Incorporated in 2010, the company operates a major production facility in Agbara Industrial Estate, Ogun State, with its commercial office in Ikoyi, Lagos. It manufactures and distributes popular brands such as Mentos, Chupa Chups, Alpenliebe, Center Fresh, and Center Fruit across Nigeria, combining international brand expertise with local production to serve the confectionery market.

Job Title: Buyer (Indirect)
Location: Lagos
What You Will Do
- Organise and implement purchase of indirect items (eg. parts, service, statinery items, etc).
- Negotiating pricing and other contractual terms and conditions.
- Identify suppliers and other recognised ethical channels of sourcing for parts and service.
- Research, compare and analyse quotes to ensure company gets the best value for its resources.
- Maintain up-to-date database of approved suppliers.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier performance metrics such as delivery timeliness, quality of products, supplier reliability, etc.
- Prepare budgets, cost analysis and reports.
- Provide professional guide to user departments.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure business objectives are efficiently achieved.
- Prepare and share weekly report with line manager.
Our perfect Candidate
- BSc / HND in Engineering, social science or related field.
- Professional Certification is an added advantage (eg. CIPS).
- Relevant work experience in a similar position with at least 5 years’ post NYSC experience.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Persuasive Communicator.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to analyze business performance with meaningful results.
- Must be able to work both independently and within a team.
- Goal-oriented with proven ability to get results.
- Good data analytics skills.
- Determined to succeed with the team.
