Job Title: HSE Technician

Job Summary
- To ensure that the company operates in a safe working environment that is free from hazards while complying with all relevant laws on health, Safety and Environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure fire prevention and protection of the environment.
- Evaluate PPE and ensure its proper use and maintenance within the facility.
- Promote incident prevention by ensuring effective management of occupational health and safety hazards.
- Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements and company HSE policies and procedures.
- Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and monitor worksite practices.
- Drive cultural change towards safe work practices.
- Support the implementation of ISO standards (QMS, FSMS, FSSC, OHSAS, EMS, etc.).
- Maintain HSE logs and documentation.
- Develop fire prevention and safety awareness programmes and train staff on emergency response.
- Observe and enforce HSE regulations and safe work practices.
- Participate in incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
- Document and report accidents and incidents.
- Conduct HSE inspections and establish corrective action plans.
- Maintain positive and proactive relationships with managers, employees, customers and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are maintained and communicated.
- Perform any other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment laws and practices.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent (e.g., NSPON Level 1, 2 or 3 certifications).
- Good knowledge of relevant fire prevention and protection agencies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in HSE practice.
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Relevant valid HSE competency certifications.
