Job Title: Short Form Videographer

Location: Lagos

Description

  • We are seeking a highly creative and execution-focused Social-First Videographer to join our content team.
  • This role is responsible for producing fast, high-quality, social-native video content that drives engagement, builds brand affinity, and fuels organic growth.
  • You will lead the capture and editing of short-form vertical video for platforms like Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, while also supporting long-form storytelling and photography needs across the company.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands how modern content moves, emotionally, culturally, and quickly.

Core Responsibilities
Primary – Social-First Content Production:

  • Capture and edit short-form vertical video optimized for social platforms.
  • Deliver quick-turn edits (often within 24–72 hours).
  • Develop strong hooks, pacing, captions, and storytelling structures designed for retention.
  • Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form assets.
  • Collaborate with content, agency, visuals and label teams to align content with campaign goals.

Secondary – Campaign & Long-Form Support:

  • Support production of explainers, interviews, and other WeTalkSound video content.
  • Capture lifestyle and event photography for web, social, and campaign use.
  • Contribute ideas that align storytelling with brand values and goals.

Must-Haves

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in videography and editing, ideally in a social-first environment.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing short-form, vertical, social-native content.
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Excellent instincts for hooks, pacing, storytelling, and retention.
  • Experience shooting with mobile/vlogging camera/professional camera equipment and lighting setups.
  • Strong understanding of social platform dynamics, trends, and content performance.
  • Strong understanding of African audiences, culture, and internet trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience in entertainment, music, culture and lifestyle brands.
  • Motion graphics experience.
  • Experience capturing live events.
  • Experience capturing vox pops and interviews.
  • Familiarity with photography editing tools such as Lightroom or Photoshop.
