Job Title: Helper / Support Personnel

Location: Lagos

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist crane operators, forklift operators, and riggers during lifting and material handling operations.
  • Support in loading and unloading materials from trucks, trailers, or storage areas.
  • Help in moving materials, tools, and lifting accessories to designated work areas.
  • Assist in positioning, aligning, and securing loads under supervision.
  • Ensure lifting accessories (slings, shackles, hooks, chains, etc.) are available and properly arranged before operations.
  • Carry out basic equipment cleaning and routine checks as directed.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping before, during, and after lifting operations.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors, crane operators, forklift operators, and riggers.
  • Observe safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Assist in barricading and securing lifting areas to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Support in manual handling tasks when required.
  • Participate in Toolbox Meetings (TBM) and safety briefings.

Qualifications

  • BSc Degree in Engineering
  • 1 – 2 years experience
  • Basic knowledge of lifting operations and safety practices is an advantage.
  • Relevant safety training (e.g., basic HSE training) is an added advantage.
