About the Role
- The Payroll Associate is responsible for supporting the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of employee payroll across the organization.
- The role ensures payroll transactions, statutory remittances, reporting, and related financial activities are executed in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established service standards.
- The Payroll Associate collaborates with internal stakeholders, external partners, and statutory agencies to maintain payroll integrity, confidentiality, and operational efficiency.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll activities including salaries, allowances, deductions, loans, and statutory contributions.
- Ensure timely and accurate salary payments to all employees.
- Prepare and analyze monthly payroll variance reports.
- Post payroll accruals and actuals accurately within established timelines.
- Conduct monthly payroll validation checks, including negative net pay reviews and payroll reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with statutory deductions and remittances including PAYE, Pension, NHF, ITF, and NSITF.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Coordinate with plant locations, HR teams, and Finance teams on payroll-related matters.
- Liaise with banking partners on employee scheme loans and amortization schedules.
- Support time and attendance compliance in partnership with HR Business Partners and location managers.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure exceptional service delivery and employee satisfaction in responding to payroll-related enquiries.
- Support the Rewards team with other compensation and benefits activities as assigned.

Requirements
- HND or University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Compensation & Benefits, or a related field.
- Experience within the FMCG industry is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Good understanding of Nigerian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience in payroll reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with payroll controls, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
