Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations of our retail business.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow, managing inventory-related accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- The successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of retail accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and daily transaction postings.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor daily sales, expenses, and cash flow activities.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, and financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Track and reconcile inventory-related transactions and stock valuations.
- Process payroll and maintain employee salary records.
- Prepare and file statutory deductions, taxes, and other regulatory obligations.
- Monitor budgets and provide recommendations for cost control and profitability improvement.
- Conduct periodic financial audits and stock verification exercises.
- Analyze financial data and provide management with actionable insights.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records.
- Support management in financial planning, forecasting, and decision-making.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within a retail, FMCG, or distribution business.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Experience in inventory accounting and stock management.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ATS is an added advantage.
