Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) is seeking a skilled and analytical Health Economist to conduct economic research, analyze healthcare costs and outcomes, and generate evidence to support effective health policies, programs, and interventions in underserved communities. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with academic or professional experience in health economics, economics, public health, epidemiology, health policy, healthcare financing, statistics, or related fields, with strong skills in economic analysis, data analysis, research methodology, health policy, statistical modelling, and scientific writing.

Job Title: Health Economist
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses of SRHIN’s health programmes
- Analyse health financing mechanisms and their implications for programme sustainability
- Develop economic models to support grant proposals and donor reporting
- Provide technical input on resource allocation and budgeting for health interventions
- Collaborate with the policy and research teams to translate economic findings into actionable recommendations
- Prepare technical reports, briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree or Higher in Health Economics, Economics, Public Health, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health economics, health financing, or related analysis
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in relevant statistical/economic software
- Familiarity with the Nigerian health system and donor-funded health programmes is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
