Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support research projects, data collection, field activities, documentation, and evidence-based health initiatives focused on underserved and vulnerable communities. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with academic or practical experience in public health, health sciences, social sciences, epidemiology, medicine, biomedical sciences, statistics, research, community health, or related fields, with strong research, communication, data collection, organizational, analytical, and teamwork skills.

Description
- At SRHIN, we are committed to improving health outcomes in underserved communities. As we expand our impact, we seek a dedicated professional to support the design, implementation, and data collection processes for SRHIN’s research studies across our offices.
Role Overview
- Support the design, implementation, and data collection processes for SRHIN’s research studies across our operating offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with data collection (surveys, interviews, focus group discussions) in field and community settings
- Support data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis
- Assist with literature reviews and background research
- Support logistics and coordination for research activities
- Maintain accurate research documentation and records
- Ensure ethical research conduct and informed consent processes are followed
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field (Masters in Public Health is an advantage)
- 1–2 years’ research experience, preferably in health or community-based research
- Familiarity with data collection tools (e.g. Kobo Collect, ODK) and basic statistical software
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Willingness to travel within operating locations and surrounding communities
- Vastness in the use of qualitative and quantitative data analytical tools e.g SPSS, R, Atlas, T.I/NVIVO is an advantage.
