Job Summary
- The Inventory Officer is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure the availability of materials and products.
- The role oversees stock movements, conducts inventory reconciliations, supports stock audits, and ensures compliance with company procedures to achieve efficient inventory management and minimize stock discrepancies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Receive, issue, and record stock movements promptly.
- Conduct regular stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
- Investigate and report stock variances or discrepancies.
- Update inventory data and prepare inventory reports.
- Ensure proper storage and identification of materials.
- Support internal and external stock audits.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and dispatch teams on stock requirements.
- Maintain compliance with inventory control procedures and HSE standards.
- Ensure good housekeeping within inventory storage areas.
Education and Work Experience
- Education: Minimum of HND / B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Work Experience: 2–4 years’ experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or stock management.
- Experience in stock reconciliation, auditing, and inventory reporting is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems (ERP is an advantage).
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and procedures.
