Job Description
- The Blistering Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, setup, and maintenance of blister packaging machines used in the packaging of pharmaceutical products.
- The role ensures that all activities are carried out in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements to maintain product quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate blister packing machines to package tablets and capsules according to approved batch manufacturing and packaging instructions.
- Perform machine setup, and changeover activities for different products and batch sizes.
- Ensure correct loading of packaging materials such as PVC, PVDC, aluminum foil, and printed materials.
- Monitor machine parameters and output to achieve optimal efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine in-process quality checks (e.g., sealing integrity, print accuracy, batch coding).
- Maintain accurate documentation including batch records, logbooks, and downtime reports.
- Perform cleaning of equipment and production areas in compliance with SOPs and GMP standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical or operational issues to the maintenance team promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of O’Level (WAEC/NECO) or equivalent; technical certification is an added advantage.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically in blister packaging operations.
- Basic understanding of GMP, SOPs, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
