Job Summary
- The Construction Project Accountant will be responsible for monitoring project finances, tracking construction costs, managing project accounts, and ensuring proper financial documentation and accountability across all construction activities.
- The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with construction teams, contractors, vendors, and project budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects.
- Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost performance.
- Track payments to contractors, artisans, suppliers, and vendors.
- Review invoices, purchase requests, payment documents, and supporting records.
- Prepare project cost reports and financial updates.
- Reconcile project expenses and vendor accounts.
- Support project managers with financial analysis and cost information.
- Monitor material procurement costs and project expenditure.
- Identify cost variances and escalate financial risks.
- Maintain proper documentation of all project transactions.
- Support internal audits and financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in construction/project accounting.
- Experience working with construction companies is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction costing, procurement processes, and project expenditure tracking.
- Ability to work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Site Teams.
- Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 monthly.
