Description
- The CNG Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring compressed natural gas (CNG) equipment, ensuring the safe compression, storage, and dispensing of gas.
- The role involves conducting routine inspections, performing basic maintenance, adhering to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, and maintaining accurate operational records to ensure uninterrupted service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CNG compressors, dispensers, storage systems, and related equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is functioning efficiently.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and promptly report faults or equipment failures.
- Ensure safe loading, unloading, and dispensing of CNG in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of gas volumes, equipment performance, and daily operational activities.
- Monitor pressure, temperature, and other operational parameters to prevent system failures.
- Adhere strictly to HSE policies, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, equipment malfunctions, or gas leak incidents.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the CNG station.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications
- HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Previous experience in CNG operations, gas processing, oil and gas, or industrial plant operations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CNG systems, compressors, pumps, and safety procedures.
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Salary
N250,000 – N400,000 monthly.
