Job Title: Account Payable Officer
Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Job Summary
- The purpose of the job of the Account Officer is to manage payables and receivables, compute tax schedules, prepare production and sales reports, and maintain asset schedules, inventory management, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Principal Accountabilities
- Process and manage vendor invoices and payments accurately and on time to maintain good vendor relationships and avoid late payment penalties.
- Track and manage customer invoices and payments to ensure consistent cash flow and reduce the risk of bad debt.
- Calculate and prepare tax schedules in compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations to ensure timely submissions and avoid penalties.
- Prepare and analyse production and sales reports to identify trends and variances for informed management decision-making.
- Maintain and update the asset schedule to ensure accurate asset management and proper documentation of transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records to support month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure data integrity.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory records to ensure accurate stock levels and support efficient production planning and cost control.
- Reclassify monthly cost centre expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper allocation of costs.
- Collate monthly departmental expenses to benchmark against the budget, ensuring financial targets are met and identifying variances for corrective action.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports to the Financial Controller to provide necessary insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
Job Requirements
- Minimum requirement: BSc or HND in Accounting
- Minimum requirement: 1- 3 years cognate experience.
