Job Description

  • The Head of Corporate Communications and Branding is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that align with Egbin Power Plc’s vision and business objectives.
  • Oversee the company’s brand identity and ensure consistency across all platforms and communication channels.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders to enhance corporate visibility and manage internal communications to foster employee engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communication strategies that align with Egbin Power Plc’s vision and business objectives.
  • Identify and proactively manage the growth of the Egbin brand and any issues that may impact reputation.
  • Manage the company’s reputation with stakeholders through regular communication of critical messages about company activities, plans, achievements, and contributions to society.
  • Oversee and safeguard the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media stakeholders to enhance corporate visibility.
  • Manage internal communications to foster employee engagement and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Lead crisis communication efforts to protect and preserve the company’s reputation.
  • Engage with regulators, partners, and community stakeholders through effective communication.
  • Manage relationships with the host community by engaging stakeholders, addressing concerns, and aligning expectations to ensure smooth operations and foster collaboration that supports the business.
  • Supervise digital communication strategies and ensure an impactful presence across social media platforms.
  • Oversee the creation of press releases, newsletters, speeches, and other corporate communication materials.
  • Coordinate corporate events, product launches, CSR initiatives, and branding campaigns.
  • Monitor communication activities, measure effectiveness, and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws, including NDPR, and uphold corporate governance standards.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the communications and branding team, fostering innovation and professional growth.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in Brand Management, Digital Marketing, or Corporate Communications (e.g., CIPR, CIM, IABC) are an added advantage.
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or branding.
  • Experience in media relations, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working in large organisations or multinational companies is highly desirable.
